Front Porch takes on counseling from a holistic approach. That means that we will use several techniques or resources to be sure that our clients needs are being met from multiple perspectives. Below are a few of the approaches that we utilize.
This is about being present in daily life. Mindfulness has you not focus on the past or worry about the future, but to be fully focused on what is happening now.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is an evidence-based style of therapy that is widely used among many counselors. It focuses on how thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected.
Motivational Interviewing helps you resolve thoughts and feelings to find the internal motivation to change. Recognizing how difficult it can be to create change in your life, this is an empathetic and short-term process that will practically help you discover that motivation.
